I've heard "the locals" crack em with the backside of a spoon. They're probably not eating jumbos. While it does work, it requires a great amount of downward force. No shame in using a meat tenderizer or other hammer (or having awesome Grace around to crack it for you). But eventually you get it like this, and it's time to dip and eat.

It has Pippi's attention, for good reason.
